Lacey Turner To Host A Brand New Podcast
EastEnders icon Lacey is branching out from her role as Stacey Slater on the BBC soap to host a new podcast. The 36-year-old star will be taking a look at the careers of TV and film stars who got their start in soap operas as host of We Started Here. Lacey and her guests will chart their careers, from humble beginnings to stardom, all via appearing on our TV screens in soaps.
This new podcast is being commissioned by BBC Studios Drama Productions and will also share an exclusive insight into the story of how Lacey broke into the industry over two decades ago after she took over the role of Stacey as a teenager.
While speaking about her new role, Turner said, “EastEnders holds a very special place in my heart, it was my very first acting job, and although I have been fortunate enough to explore other roles, for me nothing compares to working on a soap.”
The famous actress also reflected on how, through this opportunity, she will be able to interact with talented people in the industry about everything, and that seems exciting. Kris Green, Training Executive at BBC Studios Drama, applauded the influence of soap operas and said, ‘Soap has always had the most extraordinary ability to entertain the nation. But few see what goes on behind the scenes, and many forget the stars whose careers it launched.’

Green also appreciated how Lacey became a household name through a soap opera and that they’re glad to have her onboard for this project alongside her EastEnders schedule.
