Nadia Sawalha, known to play the role of Annie Palmer on EastEnders, has been through heartbreaking obstacles. There is no bigger pain in the world than losing the love of your life. Read on to find out what happened.
Loose Women star Nadia Sawalha is once again in the news and this time she is paying a tribute to her ex co-star, Marc Bannerman. This comes after the death of her first husband, Justin Mildwater, who committed suicide in 1998, a few months after the duo split. While discussing this devastating moment, she told OK! Magazine, “If it wasn’t for Marc, I don’t know what I’d have done.”
The actress never really talks about the tragedy, but in 2019, Nadia opened up to Loose Women viewers and highlighted that it was an awful time for everyone in her family. She also said, “One of the first calls I got was from Wendy Richard. I’ll never forget it, she said, ‘I can have a car there straight away, you can come to the flat, you can stay as long as you like’. Sawalha was really scared, but the support from her co-stars helped her a lot, especially Marc.

As for her stint on EastEnders, the star played the role of shrewd businesswoman and fraudster Annie Palmer. She made her debut on the show in 1997 and made a dramatic exit in 1999. Long-time viewers know that Annie was in an on-and-off relationship with Marc’s character, Gianni di Marco.
The duo had a brief fling in Walford even after it was revealed that the pair might have the same father. Since she was kind of a villainous character, fans would love to see her back in Square again! For more such updates on EastEnders, keep following Soap Opera Daily!
