After being officially charged with the murder of Debbie Colwell, the actress who plays Sonia has opened up about upcoming twists and turns to expect on the show. Sonia Actress Natalie Opens Up About Her Character!
EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy has spoken after her character Sonia Fowler was unfairly sent to jail for killing her partner’s ex-wife, Debbie. Viewers know Reiss, Sonia’s fiance, killed his comatose wife Debbie in cold blood to eliminate her costly care home bills.
The murderer sunk even further by letting his pregnant wife-to-be take the fall for his heinous crime. We recently saw Reiss and Sonia getting arrested at their engagement party after police found evidence against them.
Later, Reiss was released without any issue as he had an alibi. As for Sonia, all the evidence was against her, and Reiss just stood there while his fiance went to prison for wrongful reasons.
All of this comes after Sonia actor Natalie is being widely rumoured to be taking a small break from her soap stint. She recently appeared in an interview and spoke to Radio Times about Reiss’ betrayal and manipulation.
Clever Reiss managed to convince Sonia that he didn’t kill Debbie while visiting him in prison. And Sonia, the naive person she is, believes Reiss can never do this. While he’s got her wrapped around his finger, Cassidy thinks Reiss is a ‘psycho.’
She said, “I can’t [believe he’s done this]! To the point where she’s going to go down for it, and he doesn’t say: ‘This was me, I did this.’ You are like, ‘Oh my god, he’s a psycho.’ It’s really shocking and dark; I look forward to seeing what happens next.”

The actress also discussed how her character being charged for comatose Debbie’s murder is her ‘worst nightmare come true’, fearing she might lose her baby. It seems like she is worried about losing her kid more than anything. While talking about whether someone out will save Sonia, Natalie added, ‘Who knows? But she’s got a lot of champions there on the Square…’
Fans know that Walford nurse’s sister, Bianca Jackson, will be returning to Walford soon, as Patsy Palmer’s comeback was confirmed recently.
