EastEnders actor Natalie Cassidy has addressed critical online remarks she got for accepting free clothes despite having ‘loads of money.’ The 41-year-old spoke about the issue during a September episode of her ‘Life with Nat’ podcast, where she was talking about fashion. She praised Tesco for its ‘lovely bits’ and commended River Island for its current offerings for the festive season.
Cassidy went ahead and revealed that the leather jackets there are just lovely. She added, They’ve treated me to a couple of bits. They’ve been really kind. I went in-store because I’m doing this documentary, and Madeline, who works there, has been so kind.” However, after revealing her latest pieces of clothing on Instagram, she received backlash from her fans, who criticised her for accepting freebies despite her wealth.
To this Natalie explained, “From people saying, ‘Oh brilliant. Someone who earns loads of money getting free clothes. So what I would say to that, and I understand that comment, is it’s because I’m doing a television programme.” The actress then elaborated that its similar to buying costumes for a show as stores want her to wear their pieces while she’s on screen, as per Manchester Evening News.

The former Strictly star opened up and mentioned that it’s like having a ‘bit of wardrobe’ as well as ‘being every day’ while also addressing that she ‘rarely’ gets negative light on the internet. As for Natalie’s stint on the BBC soap, she has been playing the role of Sonia since 1993, and she has recently taken a small break from the show.
