The actor admitted that the BBC programme is all set to air more about Alfir’s prostate cancer diagnosis and its consequences. OMG! Alfie Moon Will Soon Be Facing New Health Crisis
EastEnders star Shane Richie, known to portray the role of Alfie Moon on the show, has opened up about the upcoming storyline for his character. Long-time viewers know that Alfie was diagnosed with prostate cancer last year, but he kept it to himself for a long time. However, he did confide in Phil and Linda about his condition, and they urged him to open up to his friends.
Eventually, the truth about his cancer was revealed to everybody, and his friends & family supported him through it. However, the famous TV personality has now admitted that he is going to embark on a huge storyline that will be utterly devastating for Alfie and his fans.
While speaking on the red at the 2024 National Television Awards, he discussed the upcoming storylines and told the Sun that they’re about to cover the erectile dysfunction story, which ties in with prostate cancer.
The actor most recently made a comeback to BBC soap in 2022 also shed light on his scenes with Jessie Wallace’s Kat Mitchell. Viewers know that Kat and Alfie are involved in a traumatic storyline with their son Tommy being involved in the parent-child abuse narrative.

Speaking of this, Shane explained, “The story that myself [and Jessie], that Kat and Alfie are playing at the moment is with our son Tommy, And [it’s] about teenage angst and violence in the family. So that’s what’s about to hit the screen pretty soon.”
