To mark exactly one year since the massive 40th anniversary stunt, the actor shared some never-before-seen photos from the set. James Bye Shared BTS OF Martin’s Death In EastEnders
James By shared many pictures and videos that show everything that happened once the cameras stopped rolling on the disaster. The actor shared a funny shot of himself in the dressing room wearing massive leg pads to stay safe during the heavy filming. In one of the black-and-white image he is seen in a dressing room alongside co-star Lavey Turner before the chaos began.
You can also see the ruined pub, filled with smoke and debris, as the camera crew works through the wreckage. There’s also a great shot of the cast lying on the floor resting between takes. James also shared a picture of their cast chairs and added “RIP MF” as a nod to Martin Fowler’s tragic exit.

How Did Martin Fowler Die In EastEnders?
Martin died during the show’s 40th anniversary live episode last year. He was the first baby born on the soap, so his exit for sure marked the end of an era. During the anniversary week, murderer Reiss Colwell was on the run. Reiss was speeding away when Cindy pushed Ian into the side of his car.
To save Ian, Reiss crashed his vehicle into Queen Victoria’s barrel store. During the impact, a huge explosion happened where Stacey was stuck. And in order to rescue her, Martin Fowler, her ex-husband, went inside the house. And he managed to get to her.
During his final time, he shared a tearful conversation with his soulmate. Martin expressed his love and even proposed to her one last time.
