EastEnders is bringing Max Branning and Grant Mitchell together on screen. They didn’t have many scenes side-by-side in the past. Now they’re back in Walford at the same time. And Reddit users are already speculating on how their paths will collide. Keep scrolling to know more.
Max Branning And Grant Mitchell To Collide In EastEnders?
Both the iconic hardmen, Max and Grant, rarely ever crossed paths during their original runs. Max arrived in 2006, just as Grant left for Portugal. However, now both characters are in Walford together. And even though their arcs focused on separate family crises, there could be an anticipated collision of the two.
Max arrived again at Albert Square last year. Also, now his storyline revolves around a flashforward set for New Year’s Day 2027. Fans saw him getting married. However, who the bride is still a mystery. The Branning man was also shown in bed with a pregnant woman who isnt his bride.

Moreover, even romance is brewing as he lately admits his real feelings for Linda Carter. Linda is also the mother of his young daughter Annie. But the two faced problems when Max hid that his grandson bullied Linda’s son, which caused a rift. Elsewhere, even Grant is set to return for spring. He will reunite with his estranged son Mark Fowler Jr for the first time since Mark discovered that Grant is his father.
The Mitchell man will also play a central role in supporting long-time friend Nigel Bates. When he returned last year, he helped his brother Phil during a mental health crisis. He even prevented a suicide attempt at The Arches.
Fans’ Comments & Theories
One user wrote, “Finally! Two legends in one scene, this is what I’ve been waiting for.” Another joked, “The Battle of the Balds! The Bald and the Brave, it’s happening! Elsewhere, a redditor speculated, “Have Chrissie and Phil ever met? They’re so connected through the same circle. It’s wild they’ve never crossed paths. Maybe Max and Grant will finally change that.”

Some fans even think that the pairing will work well. A user wrote, “They’ll probably get along and might even team up, if the flashforward is anything to go by.” Others at the same time commented, “Just as Stevie Mitchell said, ‘like a man in orthopaedic shows, I stand corrected.’ Looking forward to seeing what happens!” For more EastEnders spoilers and updates, keep following Soap Opera Daily.
