EastEnders Tributes To Legendary June Brown
The studio canteen has been renamed On The Dot to pay a tribute to June Brown. A source said that June would have been delighted with the idea. Also, the actress would even have a chuckle at the joke entwined in it. The canteen was very dear to her. And there were also talks about her sitting there with tea and cigarettes while the cast members would be surrounding her.
Michelle Collins, who plays Cindy Beale, talked about June’s habits. She said that June smoked, enjoyed red wine and still kept herself healthy. Moreover, Collins also saw her doing pelvic floor exercises on a trolley in the canteen.

Elsewhere, John Altman, who played her son, also shared some memories. He said that their walk to the canteen always took longer. It’s because Brown used to always stop to chat with everyone along the way.
Elsewhere, Katie Jarvis once told how June kept her routine. She remembered June used to smoke nonstop and walk into the set with her pages. Despite this, she still knew every line without a single mistake. According to her, Brown was always the one person allowed to walk around smoking.
Dot Cotton’s Legacy And Her On-Screen Goodbye
The soap aired Dot Cotton’s funeral after June Brown passed away at age 95. Her real-life children were also a part of the scenes. Producers explained that June never wanted her character to be killed while she was alive.
And former executive producer Chris Kershaw said her family understood that once she passed, the show had to follow her wishes. After some time, they felt it was right to give Dot a proper farewell. In her last storyline, Sonia Fowler stole Dot’s savings.

Martin took the blame, even though Sonia was the thief. And this way, she decided to leave Walford. The icon last appeared on the show in 2020. For more EastEnders spoilers and updates, keep following Soap Opera Daily.
