Elaine decided to end their marriage because she was fed up with George’s lies and messy relationships with ex-wives. She first attempted to hide her truth, but the guilt became too much, and she eventually confessed everything.
But it did not sit well with George. He left a shattered Elaine behind as he hurried out of the pub, shocked and hurt. Elaine is dealing with her heartbreak when others were busy celebrating Kat and Alfie’s wedding and Yolande and Patrick’s engagement.
The Pain Was Louder Than the Promise
A glimpse of hope is hinted at in Monday’s programme, which is not yet available on BBC iPlayer. To help his friend George see the light at the end of the tunnel, Phil intervenes. George contacts Elaine after their conversation, informing her that she deserves another opportunity. Elaine loses her calm because George refuses to take responsibility for their breakup.
Later, George realises that he has had enough of Sarah cutting him off and that his marriage is shattered. He quietly gathers his belongings and leaves again, leaving Elaine to deal with her loss.
While recent promotional photos show Elaine wearing a black veil and completely engrossed in her misery. Linda tries to lift her mother’s spirits by throwing a fancy divorce celebration when she realises how upset she is. Elaine follows, pouring drinks while maintaining a fake smile. The guest list includes women who have experienced heartbreak. Yolande, Kim, Mo, Priya, Denise, and Honey. As chaos erupts, Phil even jumps under the bar to help Linda.
Even though Elaine laughed all night, the reality set in early in the morning. She is collapsing beneath the makeup. Is it too late to fix her errors even though she knows about them?
