Things are getting more complicated for the Driscolls on Coronation Street, and it looks like the past is about to catch up with them in a big way. But just when no one expects it, a familiar face from another iconic soap shows up and what he brings with him might just change everything.
The Driscolls’ Family Drama Heats Up
Ever since Eva Price returned to Weatherfield to take over the Rovers Return, she’s been trying to prove she belongs behind the bar. But her plans hit a major bump when Maggie dropped the bombshell that she was the one who paid for the pub’s relaunch, which means she technically owns it.
That revelation caused instant chaos. Eva wasn’t happy, Maggie stood her ground, and poor Ben ended up stuck right in the middle of his strong-minded mum and his fiery girlfriend.

Their arguments have quickly become one of the biggest talking points among Corrie fans. Maggie clearly doesn’t trust Eva, and Eva’s doing everything she can to keep her cool. But behind all the tension, there’s something else simmering, something from the Driscoll family’s past that’s about to come to light. And that’s where the twist comes in.
EastEnders’ Aidan O’Callaghan Steps Into Weatherfield
Remember Lewis from EastEnders, the one who put Ben Mitchell through absolute hell? That was Aidan O’Callaghan, and now he’s stepping onto Coronation Street in a completely different role. This time, he’s not in Walford but on the cobbles, playing a character called Alan.
Alan will appear in a special flashback episode that digs into the Driscoll family’s history. The episode goes back to Ben’s childhood and explores what really happened between him and his brother when they were younger.

It’s a one-off, but from what’s been teased, it’s going to have a real impact on how fans see the Driscolls moving forward. A source told The Sun that Aidan’s scenes will take place in the past, revealing some deep-rooted family secrets that explain why the Driscolls are the way they are. They described it as a “really unique episode,” and even though Aidan’s just appearing as a guest, it sounds like his role will be one to remember.
With this appearance, Aidan’s now completed the full set, having been on EastEnders, Emmerdale, and Coronation Street. Long-time viewers might remember his Emmerdale stint, too, where his character flirted with Robert Sugden before Robert pulled away at the last minute. Fans have already taken to the Driscolls, and this upcoming episode will give everyone a better idea of what shaped them into the family we see today.
