Life in EastEnders is never simple—but for two of the Square’s youngest inhabitants, things are spinning out of control faster than anyone could have imagined. Following on from bereavement, trauma, and loneliness, Lily Slater and Avani Nandra-Hart are set to make some decisions that leave their families stunned. What begins as a call for attention soon turns into outright rebellion, prompting their loved ones to intervene before it‘s too late.
EastEnders: Lily and Avani Spiral Into Chaos
Lily Slater is barely recovering from her dad‘s funeral, and the grieving is battering more than anyone anticipated. Avani, meanwhile, is suppressing the trauma of her recent run-in with the police. Neither teenager has the slightest idea how to seek help, so they strike out, reaching for drugs and risky behavior as an attempt to dull the pain.
An insider revealed that both girls are in complete self-destruct mode. As per them, Lily and Avani are alienated and unheard, which has led them to rebel and turn to substance use as a coping mechanism for everything they cannot process.
At home, Jean Slater is finding it difficult to lay down the law, and with Stacey paralysed by grief, no one can reach Lily. The teen mum finds herself in the Square Gardens, getting high on weed with Avani. But when Avani asks for money, Lily makes a chilling move that leaves the whole family appalled.
Jean then turns to Harvey Moone for advice, and he encourages her to give Lily another chance. Meanwhile, Bex Fowler decides to take matters into her own hands, telling Lily to make amends. But the harm is already done—when more details of Lily‘s actions come to light, she runs away.
One source close to the show indicated that Lily‘s bereavement has transformed her totally and left her family speechless. They went on to state that Martin would be heartbroken if he had any idea of his daughter’s direction.
Parties, Dealers, and a Glimmer of Hope
As Lily flees from the repercussions, Avani is occupied maintaining appearances at home, even while she illicitly meets with a dealer by the name of Declan to sustain her addiction. Now reconciled with Amy Mitchell, Avani sets out to her friend‘s bash at No.29, in tow with weed.
But then, once they arrive, something changes. Avani throws away the drugs, obviously worried about the repercussions. But when Declan arrives on the doorstep, panic takes hold. She initially says he‘s just a friend, but when things get out of hand, Avani tells Amy the truth and begs her to phone Jack Branning to make him leave. Meanwhile, the teenager comes home. She‘s greeted with disappointment, but Jean‘s tough love resonates. Burdened with remorse, Lily finally cries.
EastEnders Spoilers relay that the following day, Avani’s parents, Ravi Gulati and Priya Nandra-Hart, are determined to pursue their complaint with the police, even putting pressure on Jack to help escalate it. But when Jack advises Priya to let Avani file the complaint herself, the teen refuses.
An insider disclosed that Avani can’t bear the thought of going through her traumatic experience again. She‘s tried to discuss it with her family, but a sudden moment of unexpected weakness finds her sharing with Yolande Trueman.
Whether Yolande‘s resilience in the wake of her own experience spurs Avani into action remains to be seen, but at least these two teenagers are currently at a crossroads. Only the upcoming EastEnders spoilers can tell what happens next. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily to get regular updates!
