Louise Jameson plays the character of Mary Goskirk in the soap. She arrived in 2022 as Rhona Goskirk’s mother. Though they were on bad terms, they reconciled eventually. Later, Mary told Kim and family members that she was a lesbian. Mary also dated Faye, who turned out to be a con artist and defrauded her. She moved out of Rhona and Marlon’s home. However, she has continued to support her family. Recently, the character was seen supporting Vanessa Woodfield, who was upset due to Dr Todd.
Elsewhere, recently, the soap star opened up to Inside Soap as a part of the magazine’s first-ever Pride issue. She said that accepting the truth was hugely liberating for her. Louise Jameson said that Mary was regretful that she didn’t acknowledge who she was earlier.
But the soap actor added that people only accept the truth when there is an appropriate time for them. There isn’t any rule when one is brave enough to tell the truth to his closed ones. Louise hopes that there will be a time when courage isn’t necessary. However, they still live in a prejudiced society.

Meanwhile, Louise said that she wouldn’t like to see Mary married off. She thinks that the actor Kristin Scott Thomas is a suitable love interest for Mary. Furthermore, Louise said that she would love to see Mary and Bear become on-screen friends just like she and Joshua Richards are friends in real life.
Joshua Richards has also been trying to make it happen behind the scenes. She joked, saying that Joshua wants the characters to become friends and solve crimes together. Louise shared that she turned 75 and had a party. Joshua also attended it and suggested the idea.
