Emmerdale actor Mark Charnock, aka Marlon Dingle, has talked about the upsetting details he had to go through in his ongoing storyline. The last few weeks have been extremely troubling for Marlon and his family following April’s disappearance. But now, what new details have surfaced that seem upsetting to the actor? Read on to find out.
What Made Emmerdale Star Mark Charnock Upset?
All fans know that, the 15-year-old April Windsor disappeared on Christmas Day after a heated argument with her father, Marlon. Since then, Marlon and his wife Rhona have done everything to look for the her—but till now, they have no leads. Surprisingly, the tensions reached its peak when a teenager with April’s purse succumbed to death at the A&E department.
Initially suspecting it to be April, the parent duo was called in to identify the body. However, later, they were relieved to find that it was not their daughter. As if that wasn’t enough of pain, CCTV footage showed April running.
Though it was a relief to see April alive for the couple—who is she running from? However, seeing the compilation of emotional scenes, Mark, who plays Marlon, seemed visibly distressed on This Morning’s Tuesday edition. When host Cat Deeley asked whether it was too tough for him to sit through these scenes, he agreed.
Mark said that he found the whole story quite upsetting. Though he praised the scriptwriter for writing down such a brilliant storyline, he sympathised while talking about the charities and the pain real people have to endure.
When the host talked about how much his character had to endure, Mark stressed that it was one of his most terrible storylines for Marlon. Mark then shifted the conversation and talked from Marlon’s point of view about how this incident had broken him into pieces.
It’s like every day, Marlon has to gather the pieces and look for his daughter all over again. He especially referred to the body-identifying scene and said that it took a toll on him. He couldn’t help but think about how people in real life could endure so much pain.
We completely agree with Mark here. These scenes have been tough for us to watch on the screens, and we can only imagine how hard it was for him to shoot them. Let’s hope for the best, and we wish to see the father-daughter duo unite soon. We will soon bring you the next update on April’s storyline.
