Emmerdale actor Beth Cordingly, who plays Ruby on the soap, has issued an emotional plea to her loyal fans following the conclusion of the death storyline. Ruby’s on-screen father, Anthony Fox, played by Nick Day, was recently killed off in the show—and it has unleashed fans’ hatred towards the actor.
Beth’s Plea For Nick’s Safety
Though Ruby and Anthony are at clear odds on-screen, she shares a beautiful bond with Nick off-screen. Regarding this, she recently took to Instagram to praise his incredible performance and say that it has been an absolute pleasure. She wrote that Nick is a really great man in real life and appreciated getting such an incredible actor like him as her onscreen father.
Beth added, “It was an emotional experience requiring a lot of trust and a lot of love. He’s a gem. If you see him in the street, please remember he’s NOT Anthony.” Though she didn’t expect any such kind of behaviour from her fans—she clarified how actors need a bit more protection when they tell a hard-to-digest storyline.
However, fans soon chimed in with positive reactions to Ruby’s plea and assured her of the same. Not only that, but the fans also didn’t hesitate to praise Nick for his incredible acting skills, which made our skins crawl. The actress also shared some heartfelt posts from the sets working alongside Nick. We saw the duo posing candidly for pictures as Anthony shot his last scenes and bid farewell to the sets.
While things seem really good off-screen, on-screen, Ruby’s husband Caleb’s revenge plan has taken a dramatic turn and failed badly. After learning about Anthony’s abuse from Ruby, Caleb finally confronts Anthony. A gunshot rings soon after, and Cain comes in. But neither Anthony nor Caleb is shot. Meanwhile, Anthony finally manages to escape, and the viewers can’t believe he outran Caleb and Cain. However, his fate is soon revealed in a climax, as seen in his death scene. But who killed Anthony? Keep an eye on the upcoming Emmerdale spoilers, and stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily to find out.
