Soap fans know that Bear Wolf’s son, Paddy Kirk, tried to rescue an animal which was stuck on Celia’s farm. After saving the sheep, Paddy stood frozen as he was attacked brutally by a dog. The dog attacked him and dragged him by its teeth. However, Bear Wolf saved him and took him to the hospital. The doctors had to perform a surgery. Then Bear Wolf insulted his son at the hospital.
Meanwhile, Battersea Dogs and Cats Home has praised the soap for highlighting the importance of proper animal training. However, during their interview with the Express, they said that they didn’t like the choice of dog breed for the storyline. Though the incident was fictional, it highlights the importance of dog ownership and understanding the body language of dogs.
Battersea Dogs Home Didn’t Like The Dog’s Breed – Paddy Is Fearful!
Furthermore, Michael Well, who is the Head of Policy and Public Affairs at Battersea, said that it shows what can happen if a dog is not trained. However, they were not happy with the particular type of breeds being depicted as dangerous. They said that any dog of any size or breed is dangerous if they are not trained.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson of the soap shared that while selecting a dog, they didn’t check the breed but needed a trained animal for a storyline. They added that the dog was a crossbreed and could fulfil the requirements of the storyline. They selected the one which is safest to work with. Elsewhere in the upcoming episodes, Paddy will continue to struggle after the attack as he will learn that he has a fear of dogs.
