Age is quite subjective in the soapverse, it is truly just a number! We often see actors performing characters of various age brackets, that are nowhere near their real age. It seems to be a similar case for Emmerdale actress Karen Blick, who plays the role of Lydia Dingle. Recently, the actress hit the 50th birthday milestone and celebrated a pre-birthday bash.
However, when pictures from the birthday bash reached the internet, fans went berserk. They couldn’t wrap their heads around the fact that Karen Blick is actually 50 years old. “Cannot believe you’re 50 don’t look anywhere near 50,” a gobsmacked fan wrote in the comments of Lisa Riley’s post. Meanwhile, another asserted, “No way is she 50 but Happy Birthday Karen Blick”.
Apart from the shock comments, many of the Lydia Dingle stars’ friends and loved ones also commented on the birthday bash post. Emmerdale stars James Hooton, William Ash, Mark Charnock, Emma Atkins, Katie Hill, Jack Downham, Bradley Johnson, Sam Hall, and Eden Taylor-Draper all joined Karen to celebrate her birthday.
On Emmerdale, Lydia is always a mainstay character, involved in many important storylines. This year her relationship with Sam Dingle was harshly tested in the aftermath of Samson Dingle’s chaos. Currently, Sam and Lydia are dealing with Samson’s imprisonment, and fear for the kind of life he would lead after he gets released from prison.
