Joe Breaks Under Years Of Buried Grief In Emmerdale
Joe was struggling to find his footing the moment Graham walked into the room. He had already been through the entire process of accepting Graham’s death. Also, the aftermath had pushed him into the hardest phase of his life. Later, he also explained the depth of those years to Graham.
He spoke about the health problems, the downward spiral and the transplant that happened after the loss. Moroeve, he didn’t soften anything. It’s because after seeing Graham, the shock brought it all back.
Graham then tried to apologise to him. He said hurting Joe was never his intention. Moreover, he returned only because Rhona needed help. However, Joe didn’t accept the reasoning. He reminded him of how close they were once. And his absence had left him without direction.
But Graham changed the conversation toward what he hoped for now. He made it clear that being near Joe mattered more than anything else. He said the plan to stay was because of him, and not money or control.

The tension then turned to Kim. Graham confronted her, saying, “You are a disease.” Then Kim moved to slap him. However, he grabbed her wrist. “If you’re going to show your teeth, make sure you can bite, he said.”
Later, Graham said that they were still married. And this prompted her suspicion about his intentions. He clarified, “I want you to do something very difficult. Try and imagine a world where the most important thing isnt money.” Later, he assured her, “I will do everything to show Joe that I’m still the same man who’s always in his corner, wrong or right…he doesn’t need me, but maybe I need him.”
Later, Kim was worried that Graham would once again get Joe’s trust. However, suddenly two police officers arrived at the door. Assuming it was Kim who called the police, he confronted her. “Youre nothing but predictable. Pathetically predictable.”
