John Sugden has been feeling guilty after the divers found Nate Robinson’s body in the lake. The police accused Tracy and Cain of Nate’s murder. But now, they have come together to find out the truth. Thus, John Sugden got anxious and framed Owen Michelle, who had drugged Robert. When he went to his house for a visit, he let him die. Then he wrote a fake suicide note confessing to Nate’s murder. He wrote that Owen had an altercation with Nate, which led to him killing him.
Then Liam went to his house, but he got no response. Then he called the police, who found Owen’s body and the suicide note. They informed Tracy and Cain Dingle. In the recent episode, Liam went to check on Cain after the police informed him about the devastating news. John came with a leaflet from the clinic and gave it to Cain, but he was angry. Moira apologised to John for Cain’s behaviour, so he asked how Cain had been doing after Owen’s letter. She told him that it doesn’t make any sense, making him anxious.

Elsewhere, Marlon told Paddy to spend a day with him, but he refused, saying that he was busy. Meanwhile, at the surgery, John told Liam about Cain’s behaviour. He said that he wasn’t surprised. John told him that Owen killed Nate and then himself, which took away the chance to understand why it happened. Then the medic drowned a glass of whiskey and used his computer where he could see a wellbeing helpline chat.
John opened up about his guilt, and the helpline agent suggested he call. But John refused to do so. Then the soap fans learned that the helpline agent was Paddy. He didn’t tell Marlon what he was doing on his day off. As Paddy is upset due to Bear’s comments, he is focusing on doing a good deed.
