When Ray entered the village, he fooled almost everyone with his charm. And because of which Dylan thought he could trust him. However slowly, he realised that Ray only used people to finish his work, and he ran with Celia. Moreover, he used to even drag young people into dealing. He then trapped workers inside the farm.
Ray also controlled the people who worked on the land. And he forced them to work for longer days without caring for their safety. However, soon she confronts him after he fails to meet her on their planned date. Later, she steps back from him, leaving him crushed. And Celie sees the weakness and decides to strike. Unable to contain his rage, he goes out in a huff. Celia ends up doing something to him that she never thought would happen. She was his love because she brought him up, but he has realised the reality now. She manipulates him as she is scared of anyone who might alter her. Laurel is a danger to that power. Celia hits her as she is not willing to have Ray leave their world.
Later, Ray senses that something is developing inside him. Laurel has unlocked a new chamber of his heart, and that chamber doesn’t want to see Bear hurting. He is indecisive.
