Ruby Fox-Miligan is still trying to work through her mixed and complicated emotions on Emmerdale. Last month, her estranged mother passed away after succumbing to her illness. Unfortunately, she could not get the mother-daughter reunion that she had been desperately hoping for.
The mother and daughter, Helen and Ruby, had been living an estranged life from each other for the past 30 years or so. However, when Helen fell ill, she reached out for a reconciliation. She had earlier disowned her daughter when the latter had refused to end her relationship with Caleb Miligan.
However, on her deathbed, Helen wanted to reconcile. She reached out to Caleb and even begged him to get Ruby to see her. When he tried to exploit the situation and asked for money, Helen refused. But later, she transferred the amount Caleb had asked for. Unfortunately, she died shortly after making the transfer and never got a chance to meet Ruby.
When Caleb realized what had happened, he was hit by a pang of guilt. He understood that the unnecessary delays that he caused, cost Helen and Ruby their reconciliation. Yet, he decided to keep the secret from Ruby Fox Miligan, and didn’t tell her anything about his arrangement with Helen. Next week, Ruby prepares for the reading of Helen’s will.
This scares Caleb that his truth may get exposed. During the reading, Ruby comes across a document that leaves her in shock. Caleb thinks that she has found out the truth. However, it turns out that Helen was secretly in touch with Steph’s daughter. But how long can Caleb sit on this ticking timebomb? Moreover, what will happen when Ruby really does learn the truth?
