Chris Bisson Speaks About Jai’s Role In The Crossover!
The soap fans know that Corriedale will air next month. It will be out on January 5, 2026. ITV has released two trailers. The soap followers saw the multi-vehicle pile-up. The crossover will bring together characters from both soaps, Emmerdale and Coronation Street. There will be forty-one characters from both the soaps. Chris Bisson, who plays the character of Jai Sharma, is also among the forty-one characters involved in the crossover.
His inclusion in the cast list of Corriedale is a surprise for the soap watchers. The soap fans might know that Chris Bisson played the character of Vikram Desai in Coronation Street. He was part of the show between 1999 and 2002. Then the soap actor joined Emmerdale in 2009.
The soap star spoke to Digital Spy at the red carpet premiere of Corriedale. He shared some insights on Jai’s role in the proceedings. Chris Bisson revealed that he does not have much of a role in Corriedale as compared to other people involved in it. He revealed that it starts something major. Though it’s a small part, something bigger comes from it. He said that it is a nice little crossover.
Jai Might Be In A Bit Of Peril!
Chris Bisson said that he couldn’t share scenes with many Crossover actors. However, he looks very similar to a character, Vikram Desai, who is apparently in India. He said that Jai is not in much danger, but the soap fans might see a reveal at the end putting him in peril.
Meanwhile, recently, the soap fans saw Jai have a romantic bond with Kerry Wyatt. However, they found it difficult to continue for long, as they had been working together at Caleb’s depot. Elsewhere, the soap has been exploring clashes between Jai and Caleb over the past year.
He added that he doesn’t know if Jai and Caleb will ever be friends. It is unlikely, as Caleb has betrayed him once. Though Chris managed to get his money back, Caleb isn’t happy about it.
