John Sugden has been hiding many secrets since he arrived in the village. Meanwhile, the villagers are unaware of his actions. The soap fans know that he accidentally killed Nate Robinson by giving him a medication which led to his side effects and death. Then he dumped his body in the frozen lake. When the divers found Nate’s body in the lake, the medic first framed Tracy by placing Nate’s phone in Frankie’s playhouse. Earlier, the police accused Cain as he fought with his son before he was about to leave for Shetland.
However, later, both Tracy and Cain came together. In Monday’s episode, John framed Owen, who drugged Robert Sugden. During a visit, he saw Owen unconscious due to his drug overdose, so he let him die. Later, he wrote a confession letter on his laptop, claiming that Owen killed Nate during an altercation.

When Liam went to Owen’s house, he called the police, and they found Owen’s body and the note. They later inform Tracy and Cain.
