The latest Emmerdale spoilers hint at worse upcoming situations for Marlon as he soon becomes a target of social media trolls. It all spiraled up from April’s disappearance. As we know, April disappeared on Christmas Day when she came in drunk and had a heated argument with Marlon. She unknowingly destroyed a memory card that her mum had left for her, which only contributed to Marlon’s frustration. Soon, he lost his temper and agreed with April as she said she’d fade away in the background. After that storm-out, there are no traces of April so far.
Though viewers will see April get into a car after being missing for hours, her family won’t have a clue where she is by New Year. Getting no trace of her, the villagers would suggest Marlon create a video and circulate it on social media in January. But the plan soon backfires, and even though the video goes viral, hate comments flood in. Ultimately, Mary Goskirk has to pitch in to protect him from the backlash.
Marlon is more heartbroken than ever, as his efforts have been misunderstood again. All he wanted was to get his daughter back and more people to help, but everyone misunderstood his emotions. Now, this video has garnered unwanted attention from strangers, which might only add to April’s danger. Marlon can’t overcome his regrets and wishes he had taken official advice instead. Later, he doesn’t take down the video for April’s sake.
More Drama for Marlon
Elsewhere, Marlon faces a separate set of drama from his Rhona. We will soon see her struggling to forgive Marlon for the string of New Year and Christmas events. Ultimately, she brings the blame down to Laurel Thomas and steps into the Woolpack to confront her. However, things start to go downhill from here, and the full picture of Laurel’s doings will come up in the next couple of episodes.
As for April, we may see Ross and Marlon join hands to find her. Marlon will probably keep his ego on the sidelines and cooperate with Ross, as he knows April better than Marlon. We hope everything works out for the best, and we wish the father-daughter duo to start afresh in the New Year.
