The soap producer, Laura Shaw, revealed that Bear Wolf had a big, awaiting storyline. He would grab the limelight in the village. She added that he would disappear from the village soon. Bear would go missing, but when he comes back, he will be very different. Even the soap fans would ask what has happened to the character. She added that the upcoming plot will be exciting.
Though everything is being kept hidden, Joshua Richards opened up about the upcoming plot. He shared that Bear Wolf isn’t feeling good, so he is very emotional. He goes through a series of mood swings. Furthermore, he even keeps forgetting things. He added that Bear will go through the things that happen at his age. The actor shared that Bear is finding it difficult to live with Paddy and Mandy. He added that as the character has aged, he thinks that he has a role to play within society.

Furthermore, he discovered that he has a son, a new part of his family and then a couple came to live with him, so he feels like he is in the way. So, this upsets him as he feels that he doesn’t belong anywhere. The Emmerdale actor added that living with a younger family or with their offspring often makes elderly people feel like they are a burden.
He shared that though Bear doesn’t speak that he is feeling like a burden, Mandy and Paddy are aware of it. He shared that it is happening due to Paddy’s problems with his depression and even a suicide attempt. The actor shared that the storylines are made to highlight the feelings and problems of the people that are never talked about. So, these kinds of storylines are important.
