The latest Emmerdale spoilers suggest that Ruby will face more problems as a shocking revelation awaits her. A few months ago, we saw a major bump in her life when her estranged daughter, Steph, arrived. Soon, it became clear that the mother-daughter duo had a complicated relationship. Following that, Anthony, Ruby’s estranged dad, came into town too.
Ruby’s Suspicions
In a special episode, a series of flashback scenes were aired. It was confirmed that Anthony had sexually abused Ruby as a teenager. Though Ruby had kept the secret till now, it’s getting too much for her now. Now that things are getting a bit better between Ruby & Steph, certain actions have led to Ruby’s suspicions about her daughter’s origin.
Ruby has now decided to take a DNA test for her daughter, Steph. She is afraid that Steph could be the daughter of her abusive father, Anthony. In recent scenes, we saw Ruby confide in Chas Dingle that she was assaulted as a teen. Chas then suggested that Ruby find out the truth behind Steph’s paternity. And the next thing we see is Ruby ordering a DNA testing kit.
Next week, Ruby will collect a hair sample from Steph and confide in Chas about her doubts. However, Chas quickly assures her that Caleb would be supportive if the results are not positive. Later, Ruby has a close call when Caleb returns home early, just as she is gathering his DNA.
