Joe was responsible for Noah’s drugging, which led to the tragic limo crash. Three women, including Suzy Merton, Leyla Harding, and Amy Barton, died in the limo crash. However, after that, he made a plan to steal Caleb’s kidney.
He hired a co-conspirator to stab him, making him unconscious. Then, Charity suspected that Joe might have been behind all this, but didn’t have any evidence. She even sent Ross Barton so that Joe could confess the truth to him, but he moved out of it.
In the upcoming episodes, Ruby is surprised when she sees Charity Dingle at the Mill Cottage. She tells her that she knows something about Noah’s spiking. When Charity persuades her, Ruby finally confesses the truth.
She reveals that Joe spiked Noah during the night of the limo crash. Charity’s doubts finally turn out to be true as Joe’s secret is out. Then she also realises that Joe Tate stole Caleb’s kidney.

She learns that Joe hired a co-conspirator to stab Caleb and make him unconscious to bring him to the clinic. Then he stole his kidney. She gets angry after learning both truths – Noah’s spiking and Caleb’s illegal kidney transplant. She vows to make sure that Joe bears the consequences of his actions. Later at the Woolpack, everyone sets eyes on eye. Joe has hurt many people and now all of them want to confront him. Meanwhile, Ruby and Caleb are happy that they have provoked Charity to get revenge on Joe.
