Emmerdale Spoilers reveal that Tom King’s abusive and manipulative behavior had gone on for far too long on the soap. He literally put Belle Dingle through a living hell. However, after Belle bravely opened up about her trauma, Tom was charged with assault and coercive behaviour. He tried his best to derail the trial. The vile character went to the extent of attempting suicide in the hope of throwing the trial.
Unfortunately, all his vile attempts failed. Emmerdale Spoilers confirm that in the episode that streamed on ITVX on December 19, 2024, Tom’s trial went through, and a verdict was reached. Despite her fears, Belle mustered up enough courage to stand in court and tell the truth about everything Tom put her through. However, at one point it had started to look like the jury was leaning toward Tom.
Tom’s Trial Takes A Turn
But when the issue of the hidden cameras came up, the jury started to change their mind. No matter what Tom said, he could not justify what he did. Following that, juror Kenneth spoke up with an emotional personal story about a woman he once knew, who was killed by her husband. He even went on to make a passionate plea foe Belle. He urged his fellow jurors to pay attention to the experiences Belle has gone through, and to believe her.
Jury member Heidi also remained at Belle’s side throughout the trial. Finally, jury foreman Karl stood up in court to announce that Tom had been found guilty of both charges. He addressed that even though Tom has no prior convictions and has a good professional standing, his abuse can’t be ignored. “Your campaign of abuse against your wife went on even beyond the end of your functioning relationship. In fact, it increased in severity,” he stated.
He then went on to acknowledge that Tom has shown absolutely no remorse in the aftermath of it all. “I impose a custodial sentence of three years,” he declared. It looks like Tom is done for good.
