A Wedding Dream Turns Sour
Emmerdale Spoilers have confirmed that Brenda has been over the top regarding her wedding preparations – from picking up a wedding dress to planning her honeymoon – she was happy through and through. But all her plans shattered when she got to know about Eric’s lost gamble.
When Eric proposed to Brenda, he promised her a lavish wedding along with tickets to a round-the-world cruise. Undoubtedly, Brenda was touched and over the moon with Eric’s gesture. But next, we see Eric saying that he would foot the bill – making it clear that he was in some financial trouble.
Turns out, Eric has lost his money on cryptocurrency and now has no money to plan the wedding. What’s worse is that – instead of coming clean to Brenda, he tries to cover his tracks.
Brenda Is Suspicious
In the latest episode, we see Leyla picking out the perfect wedding dress for Brenda, but when the card is declined, she gets suspicious. However, Eric covered it up by blaming it for technical glitches.
But we could see Eric panic. The contact who dealt with his investment was a no-show and he couldn’t be reached. Noah Dingle, who was also a small investor, that the company Eric invested in, named QuidULike, was a scam.
Liam’s Warning Falls on Deaf Ears
Next, Dr Liam Cavanagh spots Eric taking money from the shop and also sees a highlighted bet on the newspaper. Realizing his true intentions, Liam told Eric that he was about to risk the shop’s profits on a horse – and blamed it on the Parkinson’s medications that might have made him so impulsive.
However, true to character, Eric wouldn’t listen, and he was determined to claw back his losses no matter the risk. Eventually, though the horse won, Eric’s payout was far from enough to fix the damage. Later, when he got home, Brenda had a lot of questions—by then, she was also aware of her drained bank account. Ultimately, he had to accept that he had lost everything on crypto, and now, it’s all gone.
Is This the End for Brenda and Eric?
Eric tried his best to make sense by saying he took a home loan using the house as security, Brenda ended up calling him “stupid”. He tried to calm her down saying he won the bet on the horse, but once Brenda got to know how he took money out of the till, she was furious again.
