Gone but not forgotten. While Steve Halliwell has passed away in real life, it looks like Emmerdale producer Sophie Roper is staying true to her promise and bringing a Zak Dingle storyline. For fans who need a refresher Steve Halliwell, who played the character of Zak Dingle passed away at the age of 77years.
The actor made his first appearance on the soap in 1994 and died peacefully with his family around him. While we all are still mourning his death, the Emmerdale Spoilers confirm that a storyline with Zak at it’s heart is coming up soon.
In fact, the episodes airing in the week of September 26 are laying the groundwork for this. The latest spoilers confirm that in the September 25, 2024, episod of the soap, the Dingles come to know that Zak was ill and staying at Scotland with Debbie.
Now, owing to this news, Cain has left to be at Zak’s bedside. However, fans musn’t think that it is the end of it all because it really isn’t. Back in July 2024, Emmerdale producer Sophie Roper had opened up about how they are planning for a Dingle funeral.
Talking about it, she had said- it will be difficult for a lot of people who work on the show. Mostly because many of the viewers of the show have grown up loving Zak for many many years. In fact, she attested to the fact that it is very fitting that a tribute is needed for a character that has lived in the hearts of so many.
In another instance, Danny Miller, who plays Aaron Dingle promised to the fans that a storyline is in the works where Zak will become the heart of the show. It is great to be still watching Zak (Steve) on our screens as he was such a great and well loved character by all cast and fans of the show.
It is going to be so emotional and upsetting when the time comes to bid him farewell., knowing that he has passed in real life.
