Danny Miller Breaks Silence On Corriedale’s Criticism!
Corriedale will air next month. The special episode will air on January 5, 2026. It is a major milestone in ITV history, so it also carries the expectations of the people. However, not everyone is convinced that the crossover between Coronation Street and Emmerdale will work. Some of the viewers know that the special episode will change the future of both soaps. The consequences will be alarming.
The soap’s star has also spoken out about it. Danny Miller, who plays Aaron Dingle in the soap, opened up about a conversation he had with a stranger. He told Metro that he had one guy in the M62 service station who told him that he doesn’t think that the special episode will work. Danny asked him what he does for a living. The guy replied that he is an HGV driver, so he joked. He said that he wouldn’t tell him how to drive an HGV.
Danny added that it was interesting that no one knows the script, but they think that it won’t work. Meanwhile, Iain MacLeod, who is ITV’s Executive Producer, wanted to portray Corriedale from the very beginning. Furthermore, there is a lot at stake. He said at the Corriedale premiere that, in terms of visuals, they wanted to give a premium feel. Part of that is showing what they can do in terms of visual aesthetic.

He added that they started off with a list that looked at the best things that could happen in the soap, including affairs and murder reveals. The stage has been set for this with the current plots. He also added that they wanted to show the best of their storytelling. Iain offered up a challenge that if anyone looked down their nose at the soap genre after watching that, they would write to them. There is a lot for soap fans to look forward to in the crossover.
