Jaye Griffiths, who plays the character of Celia Daniels in the soap, made an appearance on Loose Women for the show’s Facing It Together campaign. She appeared on Thursday. The campaign was initiated with the help of two domestic abuse charities, Women’s Aid and Safe Lives.
They aim to show the help available to those living with domestic abuse. During her appearance, Jaye opened up about rebuilding her life after she experienced physical and emotional abuse in her past relationship.
She told the Daily Star that when she looks at her past, she feels sorry for herself. The star took so long to free herself and find herself again. She is shocked at how she survived the abuse and still went to the shops. Jaye Griffiths added that it is humiliating. The shame is immense. She added that if anyone is in the same position, it is not their fault.
The actor cried while opening up about the coercive control. She said that she didn’t know what to do. Even if she made tea the wrong way or put the milk in the wrong place, she had to face the consequences. Then the soap star reflected on rebuilding her life. She said that she had to start small. She asked herself simple questions of whether she liked tea or coffee. The actor said that she could choose anything and there would be no consequences. She further added that one has always tried to keep peace, but now one can finally do things.

The abusers should know that the situation will change. They should talk to the authorities or the police. Furthermore, Jaye shared that now she is peaceful and fearless.
