Emmerdale Star Laura Norton is best known for her role as Kerry Wyatt on the ITV sudser. A character that’s really loved by the fandom of the soap. Interestingly, Laura has another rather sweet connection with the soap. Her real-life partner, Mark Jordon, also has been an integral part of the soap for an extended period. The actor portrayed the role of Daz Spencer between 2017 and 2019. However, he had first appeared on the drama back in 2014.
Emmerdale spoilers recall that Mark Jordon had briefly reprised his role as Daz Spencer in December 2024, a decade after his initial debut, to be part of Daisy Campbell’s exit. Daisy portrayed Amelia Spencer on the soap – Daz’s daughter. After a heated and complicated affair with villain Tom King, Amelia left the village and moved with her father. Even though Mark is no longer part of the soap, Laura is still a mainstay in The Dales.
In a recent chat with the media, Laura Norton reflected on the time when she saw Mark on the sets for his stint. The man whom she has been dating since 2015. The actress asserted that it was wonderful for them all to be together again. “I love working with Mark anyway, but to have our little family unit back together was so lovely and you just slip right back into how it was.” Furthermore, she added that they were like a family on and off set. Thus, it was lovely having him around for a couple of weeks.
Interestingly, the Dales stint is not their only tv screen reunion. Laura and Mark also appeared together on the reality series Drama Queens. Laure reflected on the series and stated that back in the day, she would have probably declined a reality show. However, when Drama Queens was offered to them, they were in a place to do it. “Everything just fell into place,” Laura noted.
“It was important that we were talking about the charity and the condition and raising awareness.” Laure also shared that Usher Syndrome is a rare genetic condition. And hasn’t had the awareness that it deserved. Thus, they felt really called to become a part of something that raised awareness for it. Also, help in raising donations and funds to find a treatment. She hopes that all this talk will help people become more aware, and it’ll be a good thing.
It really is endearing to see our beloved soap stars being so eager to spread awareness and make a difference when it really counts. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more Emmerdale spoilers and star updates. Meanwhile, share your views in the comments below.
