Emmerdale spoilers have been teasing a terrifying car crash on the soap for a long while now. The highly anticipated doom was meant to leave several lives hanging in the balance. Fans saw the said events unfold on screen in the recent episodes. As promised, the soap featured two vehicles involved in separate devastating accidents. The violent crashes left as many as 18 lives hanging in the balance.
Now, in a chat with media, actor Jonny McPherson has revealed that the Emmerdale cast had huge doubts about the limo crash stunt. In the aforementioned scene, Caleb Miligan was driving one of the vehicles. he had sewer from the road because of an incoming truck to avoid a head-to-head collision. Meanwhile, Charity Dingle, who was driving the other vehicle, had to do the same when Noah suddenly appeared on the road.
Post the crash, one of the limos went straight into an icy lake, putting the passengers’ lives in peril. The scene was shot so brilliantly that the viewers were stunned. However, Jonny McPherson, who plays Liam Cavanagh on the soap revealed that he had his doubts about the stunt. ” I think everyone didn’t have high hopes, but they did an absolutely incredible job,” he remarked. The actor also shared that the makers dug a pit to create the icy lake for the stunt.
Jonny also shared that he stepped up in a big way to be part of the stunt after reading the detailed script. He added that they all usually film in a similar manner on the same sets all the time. Thus, a stunt like this for a night shoot was incredible. However, he did reveal that there’s also a lot of money spent on the stunts themselves. For things like cranes, jibs, special effects, etc.
The Liam actor enthused that it felt like theatre. Working for two-three weeks in the dark with the same team. ” It was really exciting and a great privilege,” he wrapped up. Honestly, we loved the way the soap featured the stunt. We cannot wait to see what happens next. So, stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more Emmerdale spoilers and updates.
