Michael Parr, who plays Ross Barton in the soap, holds the joint record of winning the most trophies in one year, along with EastEnders star Shane Richie, who plays Alfie, who won four in 2003. In 2015, Emmerdale also won the best soap award on the same night. Michael Parr reflected on his award memories, shared that he won four awards, adding that it should be three and a half, as one of them was shared between him and Charley Webb.
The soap star doesn’t think much about winning trophies, as it is not the reason he started acting. However, it is always lovely as Inside Soap has always been kind to him. He said that the soap fans love Ross, so it was special to grab the Best Actor Award. Michael added that he remembers Shane was a star before coming into EastEnders, so it is an honour that his name is mentioned along with his. He also hoped to get more awards this year and claim the title.

This means more than winning an award, as getting the Best Actor Award usually means that they have done a lot of crying. He added that the older he gets, the more smiles he wants to bring to people’s faces. Michael hopes to win an award for comedy. He shared that he keeps all his trophies in the cabinet at work. The fan-favourite said that once he won four trophies and he had an early flight to San Francisco, so someone took them and locked them inside the cabinet.
He said that the award is precious as it is for the whole team. He is just the face.
