Leyla Died In A Limo Crash!
Roxy Shahidi played the character of Leyla Harding from 2008 to 2025. She was the mother of Jacob Gallagher. She also worked as an events planner at Take A Vow. However, during the limo crash, she died in February. Charity saw Noah Dingle in the middle of the road, so she was to swerve the vehicle to prevent hitting him. So, the limo crashed on the frozen lake.
During these episodes, the viewers also saw Nate’s body lurking in the water. John Sugden had placed it after killing him. Along with Leyla, Suzy Merton, and Amy Wyatt passed away in the limo crash. Meanwhile, in May, Roxy opened up to Metro about how she felt leaving the show after sixteen years. She said that she was adjusting as it was terrifying as well as exciting. Roxy added that she was out of her comfort zone and missed her character and the people.

However, she was grateful for spending sixteen years in the soap she loved. The former Emmerdale star said that she was ready for new adventures and projects. Meanwhile, throughout her time in the village, her character has been a part of many gripping storylines. She had a romantic plot involving Liam Cavanagh. However, after marrying him, Meena murdered Leanna. Thus, both parents found it difficult to process the grief.
Roxy said that the particular plot had an impact on her. She said that she was a mother herself, and being a part of a storyline where a parent loses their child is intense. The soap star opened up about it on The Lewis Nicholls Show. She revealed that she wept every day because of the plot. Furthermore, he and Jonny, who plays Liam, met a lot of parents and charities. She was upset to realise that a lot of people experience such loss. There is so much grief, especially for parents. She is lucky that she hasn’t gone through this.
After talking about her character’s drug addiction, Roxy reflected on Leanna’s death again. She said that after everything Liam and Leyla had gone through, seeing Leanna’s picture in the house was difficult. Even though it was fictional, it was disturbing.
