In the recent episode, John Sugden organised a picnic for Sarah. She agreed to go with him. She was grateful to him for being a part of the baby plan. However, Jacob told her that he also wanted the baby. When they went on a date, Sarah told him that they could still be friends. Her ex said that he wanted to be more than friends with her. Then he leaned in for a kiss, but Sarah became anxious. She told him that she was afraid.
Jacob Gallagher promises Sarah Sugden that he won’t hurt her again. They kissed, and he went one step further and proposed to Sarah Sugden without any ring. Meanwhile, Charity and Mackenzie Boyd also sorted out things between them. Mack agreed to the surrogacy. When the lovebirds came back and told Charity, she was surprised. Jacob told her that he loves Sarah.

Meanwhile, in the recent episode, the couple decided to share their engagement news with Jacob’s grandfather, Eric Pollard. Soap fans know that Eric wasn’t happy with Jacob’s decision to take care of the baby. He even told Mack about it to Mack which created clashes between him and Charity. Later, Sarah came to the shop to appeal to Eric. Jacob was worried about his grandson getting hurt, as Sarah Sugden has a limited life expectancy. Then the twenty-year-old reminded him of his relationship with Val Pollard. It lasted for eight years as Val died. Then Sarah told him that she could have twenty years to line up, so Jacob deserves the love. Eric went to his grandson and apologised for his reaction to the engagement. He congratulated the couple.
