Billy Fletcher joined the soap in 2018. He has become a central character and has been a part of many plots. He made his first appearance at the wedding of his mother, Jessie, to Marlon. Meanwhile, Billy arrived in the village immediately following an early release from prison. His arrival was messy as he was attacked by Aaron Dingle.
Furthermore, there were also tensions between him and his half-brother Ellis Chapman. Elsewhere, the character was in a relationship with Dawn. He married Dawn in 2022. The storyline focused on the devastating diagnosis of their son, Evan, with leukaemia.
The couple also established a new life at Home Farm with Dawn’s son, Lucas and Clemmie Reed. Furthermore, more of Billy’s injuries are hidden from Dawn. Meanwhile, last year their relationship took a drastic turn. The character learned that his wife was having a secret affair with Joe Tate.
Viewers Question Billy’s Future!
Clemmie told Billy that she had seen Dawn and Joe kissing each other. Furthermore, she also told him that he had blackmailed her. Thus, Dawn had to choose between Joe and Billy. She ended up choosing Joe Tate. Billy was heartbroken and left the place. The soap fans haven’t seen the character since then.
Meanwhile, the show’s viewers took to Reddit and wrote that Billy has turned into furniture in the village. Since splitting up with Dawn, he has been increasingly peripheral. Billy hasn’t been involved in a big storyline for ages. The fan added that they can’t see Billy sticking around much longer unless the writers have an actual storyline for him.
