Mick Carter Actor Danny Landed A New Gig, Details OUT!
Danny, who played Mick Carter on EastEnders, has opened up about his new work opportunity. Viewers know that Linda’s soulmate vanished at sea in December 2022. Ever since then, fans have been hopeful that someday, he would probably show up again.
But the actor recently shared an unfortunate update about his future on the soap opera. Danny said that his character Mick on the show is dead and he will not return. However, he might return for a dream sequence or something but Mick will not be seen full time back on the show.
This all comes after the Mick actor Danny landed a new gig wherein he will be starring as Lee in the latest Sky Max comedy series, Mr Bigstuff, along with the show’s writer, Ryan Sampson. The comedy duo spoke to Metro.co.uk and spoke about how the stars aligned for Danny to take up this role. Ryan confessed that he wrote Lee’s character, keeping Danny in mind, but his plan didn’t go according to him at first.
He said, ‘I poured myself into it, furiously writing it, gave it to a producer and he was like, “Yeah, it’s good and everything, but do you realise that Danny is in EastEnders for the foreseeable future? What have you done? You’ve wasted your time.”
And I genuinely had not realised that had happened.’ After the heartbreaking news, Ryan sat down with some of his friends, where I found a newspaper, and on the front of it was ‘Dyer quits ‘Enders.’ Ryan took this as a big sign from the universe and approached Danny for the role.

After listening to Ryan’s explanation, Danny was quick to point out that this was the first time he has heard this story but jokingly said that maybe this is the reason why he left the BBC1 soap.
He said, ‘I didn’t know this, but I feel that maybe Ryan had some sort of Voodoo doll, because I did just wake up one night and go, “I must leave EastEnders! It’s been nine years now, I’ve done 1100 episodes. There’s something out there calling me…”’
Jokes apart, Danny further explained why he made the decision to leave the show after nine big years. The popular actor said that even though he had a great time at Walford, he wanted to go out and try new things. Although he had no certain plans but, when this comedy script fell into his lap, he finally decided to leave.

In addition to this, Dyer also confirmed that he wouldn’t want to join the soap opera world again when asked about if he’d like to be a part of Coronation Street. He concluded, I’m ready for new challenges now. I think the beautiful thing about what we do as actors is that you just don’t know what’s around the corner.’
We wish Danny lots of luck in all his future endeavours and would love to see him in the new comedy series. So stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for your daily fix of EastEnders updates & gossip!
