Ex-EastEnders icon Danny Dyer, best known as Mick Carter on the BBC One Soap, shared an update on his new series. Viewers know that the actor left the soap world to focus on new opportunities and we will soon get to see him starring in a new comedy series titled Mr. Bigstuff. Danny, who played Mick Carter on EastEnders, has opened up about a new work opportunity, Regular viewers of the BBC programme know that Linda’s soulmate vanished at sea in December 2022. Ever since then, fans have been hopeful that someday, he might probably show up again. But, the 47-year-old star shared an unfortunate update about his future on the soap and mentioned that his character is dead.
Furthermore, his latest Sky Comedy has finally been approved for a second season. Dyer’s fans recently saw him star as Lee in the new Sky Max comedy series Mr Bigstuff alongside the show’s writer, Ryan Thompson, who is taking on the role of Glen. While discussing Danny’s new gig, a TV insider shared, ‘Danny seems to have found his niche playing a rough-round-the-edges geezer in an out-and-out comedy show.’
They also spoke to The Sun: ‘He always said when he quit the BBC One soap that he felt there was one defining role that had so far eluded him.’ This news comes after it was revealed that Danny’s six-part comedy Henpocalypse was axed after one series. This show, written by Caroline Moran, centred around a group of women on a hen-do in remote North Wales when an apocalypse of crab measles threatened to remove the whole human civilisation.

In this series, Danny’s role saw him appear in a series of drama sequences throughout the show. Even though the first episode reached almost a million viewers, that number decreased across its run.
While speaking to Metro about his future work, Dyer mentioned that he wants to start a production company in order to provide more job opportunities for working-class actors.
