One of the former Emmerdale stars has left the Dales for good and has now landed a role in a popular US sitcom. She has been with the show since 2011, and it has only been two years since this character stepped out. Though we saw her appearing here and there on-screen, this has to be one of her major comebacks. So, who’s this mystery girl – let’s not keep you hanging anymore.
Fiona’s Major Comeback
We all remember Priya Sharma from the ITV soap, don’t we? She left the soap two years ago when she went to London with her daughter Amba for a new job opportunity. Priya’s exit from the soap was quite tragic, as David Metcalfe ran off with their daughter Amba. But eventually, he came back, and she bid Dales her final goodbye. Even after leaving, the actress said in an interview how much she would miss the show – and hinted that it was time for her to step out of her comfort zone.
It turns out she wasn’t just saying—she did get out of her comfort zone and has landed a role in a brand-new US sitcom, Going Dutch. Surprisingly, the show also features American comic and Hollywood actor Denis Leary and the UK’s Catherine Tate. The actress also shared snaps from filming on Instagram, writing, “This was an absolute joy to be a part of… working with these wonderful humans! The brand new sitcom for @foxtv, ‘Going Dutch,’ is out now on @comedyclubfox & @hulu #FoxAmerica #goingdutch.”
In addition to her professional life, the actress has made quite some progress in her personal life. Recently, she went on a trip to Goa with her husband, Simon Cotton, whom she met in Emmerdale, and shared a series of romantic pictures. We couldn’t be happier about her progress in both professional and personal life, and we wish her all the best for the future.
