Schedule Pattern Changed This Year!

The soap fans know that ITV issued a statement regarding a new schedule for Emmerdale and Coronation Street. They announced in January that both soaps will move to a new scheduling pattern. Meanwhile, the new schedule pattern took place after the research insights claimed that thirty-minute instalments attracted higher viewership in 2024. The episodes fit with the changing viewer habits.

Elsewhere, ITV’s Managing Director of Media and Entertainment, Kevin Lygo, shared that the new commission pattern is viewer-led. They are giving more choices than ever to soap fans. He added that, as there is so much competition for viewers’ time and attention, the right number of episodes will fit into their viewing schedule. Thirty-minute episodes meet their expectations.
