EastEnders fans are quite puzzled about how a few characters are simply written out. People are calling out Alfie’s quick decision to go and stay in Australia. They are also pointing out the unconvincing nature of Sharon’s unexplained off-screen activities. Scroll on for more.
Viewers Aren’t Happy With Few Scenes And Demand Some Changes
Fans didn’t like how Sharon and Alfie’s stories were handled off-late. Sharon returned to Walford last year. However, she soon faced her old rival Zoe Slater. Later, the Slater woman dropped a bombshell when she claimed that years ago Dennis Rickman had fathered her child. However, the main aim of hers was to manipulate Sharon.
She wanted to pay for a private detective to find her long-lost son. But soon, Kat Moon eventually exposed her daughter’s lies. The matriarch revealed that Dennis was not the father. Devastated by the manipulation, Sharon had left Walford. She left to stay with Michelle Fowler in Australia. And fans weren’t convinced with this on-and-off revisit.

Elsewhere, fans feel Alfie’s sudden departure isnt convincing. He recently reunited with his cousin Jake Moon. Kat Slater had tracked him down to a canal boat. And the two brothers had an emotional meeting. However, Alfie soon temporarily departed Albert Square. He received a call that his younger brother Spencer was struggling in Australia.
It happened after he heard the news of Vicki Fowler’s engagement. However, fans thought that the show could have given some other reason for the departure. According to them, visiting Spencer right now doesn’t make sense.
Fans’ Comments And Theories On EastEnders Storylines
A user expressed that, “It does not feel believable when characters leave for unclear reasons or disappear for weeks.” Another mentioned, “Alfie was in Spain only recently, so the sudden Australia trip seems like it was hurried.”
“Asking Alfie to go on a work course or Sharon to buy a property near to Albie, that makes more sense, ” one of them said. Another was referring to children’s schooling, “Albie should be either in a boarding school or at least shown attending classes.”

Some of them raised the issue of visa and travel troubles. “The drama about Alfie’s visa was exaggerated and still not accurate, ” was one of the comments. The viewers want the show to be more sensitive to the handling of absences. For more EastEnders spoilers and updates, keep following Soap Opera Daily.
