Flanagan Opens Up About Her Old Coronation Street Scenes

When Helen Flanagan joined the show in 2000, she was just a teenager. The actress also spoke about the grooming storyline with John Stape. Moreover, Helen was expected to do scenes that made her feel uncomfortable. At that time, she was unable to understand why things were written like that. It must have been weird for her as she was still a kid. And yet, she had to pose in such dresses that were totally out of, place for a young girl of her age. And now she realises how wrong it was.

She also said that Alison King spoke up in the green room. It was disgusting that the show was giving her such sexualised moments. At that time, she couldn’t process it. However, today she sees it clearly. The actor who played John Stape was older and nice. However, the idea of pairing a man that age with a teenager in bedroom scenes would never happen now.

The actress was excited for bigger storylines. However, every time a shoot was wrapped up, she felt mingling.
