Karl Davies Joins Waterloo Road!
The BBC drama, Waterloo Road, became popular in 2023 and will return with its 17th series in January 2026. Along with the exciting return of Denise Welch as the famous French teacher, Steph Haydock, viewers will get to see a new face among the teachers. The new teacher is not unfamiliar to the soap fans. Karl Davies, who earlier played the role of Robert Sugden in the soap, is ready to appear in Waterloo Road. During his time as Robert between 2001 and 2009, Karl was a part of many plots, including Robert’s feud with his brother Andy Sugden. He also had an affair with his sister-in-law, Katie. In the future, his character was a part of the plot where the teens run over their headteacher after a drunken night out.
Meanwhile, in Waterloo Road, the character will take on the role of Anthony Walters. He is Nicky’s ex-husband. He is the coach of the girls’ football team, but Nicky is shocked as she has taken a new role at the school itself. Meanwhile, Steph is back at Waterloo Road as a supply teacher. Later, she arrives to rescue as there is a crisis among the students.
Denise Welch Is Back!
Steph was a major character in the first five series. She also made an appearance as a guest in many episodes. Elsewhere, Denise Welch has made an appearance on Loose Women as a panellist. She also took on speaking roles in all four of the major UK soaps. This year, she even released a Christmas song. She spoke to Metro during the promotion of her single. She said that Waterloo Road has garnered her fans.
Meanwhile, Denise and Lincoln visited Tallinn, Estonia, as they hoped to visit the place where Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was filmed. Thus, her tour guide recognised her there. She told her that she couldn’t believe it. She said that she is from Waterloo Road school. Denise explained that they watch Waterloo Road in Estonia. Furthermore, the tour guide told people that she was from the Waterloo Road school, and everyone waved at her.
Elsewhere in the upcoming episodes of the show, the arrival of excluded students and familiar faces is ready to cause chaos in the corridors.
