Roxy Shahidi played the character of Leyla Harding in the soap. She arrived in the Dales for a job interview with Eric Pollard. Leyla soon made friends with her colleagues and joined the St.Mary’s Church Choir. Furthermore, the character has been a part of many dramatic plots. Leyla faced many personal struggles, including leaving university without finishing her course.
Leyla also dealt with her mother’s death. She also navigated her relationship with David Metcalfe. She adopted Jacob Gallagher. However, the popular character left the soap last year. Leyla was a part of the tragic limo crash. The character was killed off along with other locals, including Suzy Merton and Amy Wyatt. Leyla died from severe blood loss in the ambulance. Her son, Jacob, was shattered.

The pain leads to growth, which makes a person stronger, softer and wiser. Thus, she stepped into spring with so much gratitude.
