Adam Thomas, who played Adam Barton in Emmerdale, shared a health update on social media. The actor is battling arthritis. He has always opened up about his health struggles and emotional journey due to this disease at such a young age. His problem began when he injured his knee while training for a Hyrox competition. For a couple of weeks, his wrists were in pain. He added that he felt like he had broken his wrists. So, the pain was very severe.
Meanwhile, when Adam Thomas got his blood tests done, he learned that he had inflammation inside the joints. Thus, he went to a rheumatoid specialist before his final diagnosis of Arthritis. He earlier explained that the pain had been severe. He learned about his condition in 2023. Adam was 34 at that time.
Adam Thomas Shares A Health Update!
The former soap star took to Instagram to share an update. He wrote that he had lost hope. Adam Thomas never thought that he would get his old life back, but he was wrong. He added that if anyone is struggling with the disease and is lost, they should stay strong. Though it’s a painful road, they will get through it. He added that he was putting in the work and focusing on diet and recovery. The actor said that the disease could be cured naturally, and one day he will not have to take medicines. However, until then, he wanted the patients to be hopeful.
Meanwhile, many people commented on his post. One of the users, named Jadie, shared that her daughter is six years old and has had arthritis since she was one. Furthermore, Marina said that his post has resonated with her as she was diagnosed with it since 5 and now she is 58. So, she completely understands the struggle.
Elsewhere in January, the actor said that he used to think that he was invincible. However, he is not. Adam took up an all-meat diet, which Dr.Zoe commented was not good for the long run due to potential nutrient shortfalls. Dr Zoe said that the condition can affect nails, bowels and eyes too.
