Emmerdale Star Robert Looks Different Now!
Ryan Hawley, who played the character of Robert Sugden in Emmerdale, is making a comeback on television. Viewers have been speculating his return since he left the soap, and now they will finally get to see him in U&alibi’s period drama, Miss Scarlet, where he has a guest appearance as James Bailey. But the most striking thing about this new role is his appearance. He looks completely different from his Emmerdale days.
Reflecting on his new role, Ryan shared an Instagram post, portraying his new look. He captioned the post – The Thames Reaper is roaming around freely! Watch how James helps Scarlet solve the mystery this Wednesday on U&alibi at 9 p.m.
Will The Actor Win Hearts Again?
In Emmerdale, Ryan portrayed Robert Sudgen from 2014 to 2019, becoming the fourth actor to play the role. Before him, Karl Davies played the character. He was at the center of a dramatic storyline in the soap. Fans loved Robert’s relationship with Aaron Dingle, making them one of the most beloved couples on the soap. However, in 2019, Robert’s story took a shocking turn when he attacked his sister, Victoria Sugden’s rapist – Lee Posner. This led to imprisonment for 14 years, ending his story on the show.
Though the actor left the soap 5 years ago, he continued to portray his versatility with his guest appearances in several hit shows. He appeared in Casualty as Jamie Cleveland, a board member at the Holby City Hospital and later in – Silent Witness, where he carried a different look with long hair and beard. He also played the role of Sid Crabtee in Channel 5’s modern version of All Creatures Great and Small.
