General Hospital alum Kim Delaney is making headlines for all the wrong reasons this time. She has landed in legal trouble once again. The award-winning actress was arrested after a violent domestic dispute in Los Angeles.
Law enforcement arrived at Delaney’s home on Saturday, March 29, around 10:00 a.m. The reason? A heated fight between Delaney and her partner, James Morgan. The argument escalated fast and reportedly became physical. Officers found both with visible injuries. Paramedics examined them at the scene. Once cleared, officers placed them under arrest.
Kim Delaney now faces a felony assault charge involving a deadly weapon. James Morgan was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence. Authorities confirmed that Morgan was taken in about 30 minutes before Delaney. His bail was set at $20,000. As of March 30, both remained in custody, according to the Marina Del Rey Sheriff’s Station.
This arrest isn’t Delaney’s first run-in with the law. In 2002, she faced DUI charges in Malibu. Then in early 2024, a motorcyclist sued her for allegedly leaving the scene of a traffic incident in Los Angeles.
Social Media Paints a Different Picture For The General Hospital Star
Just weeks before the arrest, Delaney posted a sweet photo with Morgan. She called it “Pure love” and added hashtags like “lucky” and “grateful.” In January, she posted, “Love always wins!” Those words now seem deeply ironic.
Fans first met General Hospital alum Kim Delaney as Jenny Gardner Nelson on All My Children. That role earned her a Daytime Emmy nomination in 1983. She later gained widespread fame playing Diane Russell on NYPD Blue, a role that won her a Primetime Emmy in 1997.
She also earned two Golden Globe nominations for NYPD Blue. In 2020, Delaney made her daytime return as Jackie Templeton on General Hospital, earning another Daytime Emmy nomination.
Delaney and Morgan are both scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, April 1. So far, Delaney’s spokesperson hasn’t commented publicly.
