General Hospital Comings and Goings can tell that we lost Gregory Chase not too long ago. Sadly, we’re also about to say goodbye to his son, Finn. Michael Easton broke the sad news. The character has been caught up in a downward spiral since his dad passed away. He’s been numbing his pain with alcohol, which has cost him his relationship with Liz, his job, and his daughter, Violet. We hoped he’d turn things around, but it might be too late. Dive in to know more!
The ABC Soap Loses Another Star!
As per the latest reports, Michael Easton revealed that he has finished his last scenes for the show. He shared an Instagram video late at night outside the General Hospital studio. The actor began with, “I’ve always been partial to the Irish goodbye.” He admitted to liking the idea of it where you can leave a party without telling anyone. However, “I thought you all deserve better,” Easton said.
Additionally, the GH star went on to express how he loved every minute of being on the show. “I want to thank the entire cast and crew for allowing me to share their stage this past ten years.” Michael also took a moment to thank his loyal fans for being kind and loving toward him and his family. Walking out there for the last time while being apologetic to the great Lou Gehrig sparked strong emotions in Easton. He announced, “I feel like the luckiest man on the face of the earth.”
Anyway, There’s no official word yet on when Finn’s final scenes will air or how his character will exit. His exit might involve Finn finally getting treatment as Tracy has already lined up a facility with a ninety-day minimum stay. So, this whole arrangement could leave the door open for a possible return someday. Furthermore, it would also urge Violet to stay with Brook, Lynn and Chase while her dad gets the help he needs.
As for Michael’s filmography, he’s had a long journey with the ABC soap, being part of the realm since 2001. He first appeared on daytime TV as Tanner Scofield on DOOL from 1991-92. However, his breakout role was the vampire Caleb Morley on the GH spinoff Port Charles from 2001-03. In 2012, he brought his One Life to Live character, John McBain, to Port Charles. After legal disputes, he returned as Silas Clay, the brother of his Port Charles character Stephen Clay.
When Silas was killed off in 2015, Easton came back in 2016 as Dr. Hamilton Finn. He’s been playing the role ever since. We wish Easton all the best in his future endeavors.
