General Hospital Comings And Goings reveal a recent casting change on your favorite daytime drama. The show has once again swapped Sam McCall’s character with Lindsay Hartley. The character is regularly portrayed by Kelly Monaco, but will now be temporarily played by another actress. Hartley’s anticipated return to Port Charles has thrilled her fans. Since she began airing on August 22, it’s a wrap for Monaco’s stint. Keep scrolling to find out what Hartley has to say about her return to Port Charles.
The Return Of Hartley On General Hospital
According to the latest updates, Kelly Monaco has made a temporary exit from General Hospital. Fans were surprised to see Lindsay Hartley playing Sam for the second time this year. Back in 2020, when Monaco took a break from the role, Hartley stepped in. She also returned to play Sam in 2021 and again in January 2024, making this her fourth stint as Sam.
However, as with her previous appearances, this doesn’t mean Sam is permanently recast. Often, a temporary recast is due to illness or other short-term issues, as was the case the last time Hartley played Sam. Viewers can expect to see the actress in pivotal episodes as Sam mourns the death of her half-sister Kristina’s baby.
The Davis family will unite to support Molly and TJ through the heartbreaking process of saying goodbye to a daughter she will never get to raise. At the same time, Sam’s personal life will remain turbulent as Dante’s ex-wife Lulu may wake up from her coma. Speaking of Lindsay, she is no stranger to soaps.
She has also appeared as Theresa on Passions, Arianna on Days Of Our Lives, and Cara on All My Children. While Hartley’s previous stints on GH typically lasted about a week each, her last appearance was just for a single episode. Currently, there’s no information on how long she might stay or if Thursday’s episode was her only one.
Lindsay Hartley Is “Grateful” For Sam
General Hospital Comings And Goings tease that Hartley has expressed her gratitude for returning as Sam through an Instagram post. She shared photos with her bestie, Brook Kerr’s Portia, and included a heartfelt caption.
She wrote, “I’ve been part of daytime television since I was 21, and it holds a special place in my heart, for countless reasons. I’m grateful to step into such big shoes again – especially when I get to do it alongside my bestie.” Check out the post below!
We can definitely feel her excitement as she takes on the role of Sam on the soap once again. Heading to Port Charles is a matter of gratitude for any soap star. It’s clear that she enjoys being part of the show, which brings her great satisfaction and a sense of fulfillment. Look forward to seeing how her return will impact the current storyline and bring new energy to the show.
